Cinderford Town U12s 8 Cam Everside 0

Cinderford Town went into this game with 5 key players unavailable due to illness and other commitments, this left the squad needing to bring in two players from the Under 11 Colts to cover.  With no keeper as well the side were relying on Joe D’Ambragio to carry on his good keeping from last week.

Cinderford started quickly with Finn Jones scoring the first of what would become a hattick after just 2 minutes, breaking quickly through the centre of the Cam defence before powering the ball home.  Within 60 seconds it was 2-0 in very similar fashion, this time captain Brandon Donnelly waltzing through a shell shocked Cam back 3 to put Cinderford 2-0 up.

Slowly Cam started to become more organised although much of the game would be about halting Cinderford attacks rather than building their own to trouble Cinderford’s back three of Brandon Barnett, Jack Bufton and Jack Bennett, who was playing in an unfamiliar left back role.

Before too long it was 3-0, when Cam failed to deal with Brandon Barnett’s corner and Harry Wilkins struck the ball into the roof of the net.  Again this was quickly followed up by Brandon Donnelly’s 2nd of the day as he powered into the bottom corner of the net following more neat footwork in the box.

Cinderford had more chances to increase the lead in the 1st half when Brandon Donnelly hit a 20 yard striker against the bar and on the stroke of half time as Cinderford were awarded a penalty for a late tackle on Finn Jones.  The Cam keeper doing well to keep out Brandon Barnett’s penalty.

The second half was more of the same as Cinderford continued to push forward, with Taylor Blaby taking on the goalkeeping duties the pace of Joe D’Ambragio was causing problems and it wasn’t long before it was 5-0, after good work down the right from Brandon Barnett and Aaron Singleton the ball found it’s way to Finn Jones to strike his second of the day.

Another powerful run into the box from Finn Jones meant another late challenge and another penalty, this time Finn himself stepping up but blasting wide.

Joe D’Ambragio made it 6-0 with another mazy run and finish before Finn Jones completed his hattrick with another quality strike.

Brandon Donnelly took over goalkeeping duties before Cinderford made it 8-0 in the final moments of the match with the goal of the game, Joe D’Ambragio powering home from the edge of the box leaving the Cam keeper with no chance.

Aaron Singleton picked up the man of the match award for his tireless display. Cinderford now head into a top of the table clash with Longlevens next week and will be hopefully of getting everyone back, fit and available.
