Cinderford Town Under 12s took on Hardwicke Blues in the quarter final of the Graham Dunkley cup at Forest Academy.

The home team started brightly racing into an early two goal lead with wingers Isaac Phelps and Josh Horrobin grabbing a goal a piece in the opening 10 minutes and continued to control the half with Finley Jones and Josh Creed dominating the middle of the pitch.  Cinderford Town played some great passing football throughout the half, using the full width of the pitch to stretch the game and cause Hardwicke real problems.

It was 3-0 just before half time as winger Josh Horrobin burst in to the box only to be flattened after a late challenge by the Hardwicke defender, as clear a penalty as you’re ever likely to see.  Full back Brandon Barnett stepped up to put the ball low to the keeper left.

The half time introduction of Brandon Donnelly and Jimmy Wicks put Cinderford further in control of the game with Brandon Donnelly creating several good opportunities for himself but just lacking the finish on each occasion.

Before long it was 4-0 after another tidy finish from Josh Horrobin, this was quickly followed by another good finish from winger Isaac Phelps.

Cinderford continued to stretch the game and create plenty of chances down both sides with fullbacks Brandon Barnett and Jack Bufton equally as comfortable moving forward as defending and the pace of Joe D’Ambragio in the centre of defence giving Hardwicke little going forward.  Although keeper Kyran Edwards was rarely called upon, he dealt with everything he had to do with his usual high standards.

Top scorer Taylor Blaby finally added to his goals with another neat finish late on to make it 6-0 and setup a semi final against Longlevens.  Captain Finley Jones picking up the man of the match award with another all action display in the centre of midfield.

Credit should go to the Hardwicke Blues keeper who was superb all afternoon, making several excellent saves.
